All sizes given are for the total size of the print and mat combined. For example: if the size given is 8"x10", the outer measurement of the mat is 8" by 10" and the actual picture is usually about 5" by 7." An 11x14, would again be the outer measurement of the mat, with the picture being about 7 1/2" by 9."
